Meet Your Partners

Co-founders Katie and Emily met on their first day of class at Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. In the foothills of Athens, they honed their writing chops, learned the critical values of integrity and ethics, and became best friends. Following graduation, Katie and Emily gained decades of marketing, communications and journalism experience across a multitude of industries, including healthcare, higher education, technology, e-commerce, hospitality, nightclub and bar, and fast-casual dining. They also gained each other as sisters-in-law when Katie married Emily’s brother.

From classmates to friends. From friends to family. And from family to partners—in your success.

Katie (she/her/hers) was a ‘pleasure to have in class,’ but a ‘little too social.’ She credits her penchant for chitchat for her ability to make meaningful connections, an aptitude she values both personally and professionally.

Katie has spent her career developing and executing marketing strategies for global brands, including Cleveland Clinic, Chipotle, Hyland and Ka’Chava. She launched Chipotle’s first NBA Finals promotion in 2016 when the Cleveland Cavaliers brought the trophy home to CLE. She’s led a world-class team of integrated marketers in SaaS tech, specialized in DTC lifecycle marketing with a focus on retention and loyalty, and learned how to make an excellent batch of guac.

Katie loves to travel. She’s lived in Japan and been on safari in South Africa. Katie has a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Ohio University and is a certified yoga instructor. She is a suburban soccer mom (and softball, tennis, swimming, baseball, horseback riding and theater mom), living in Brecksville, Ohio, with her husband, four kids and a beagle.

Emily (she/her/hers) is a word nerd, an AP Style master and a fierce opponent of the Oxford comma (unless it’s in your style guide, of course). She has worked in higher education for more than 12 years at Case Western Reserve University, one of the nation’s leading research institutions. There, she guides content strategy, publications, emergency communications, social media management, website and email strategies, internal communications, fundraising materials and more. Prior to that, Emily was in B2B journalism covering the hotel, nightclub, bar and restaurant industries.

Emily holds an MBA from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management and a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from her beloved Ohio University (OU, oh yeah). She is an avid runner, audiobook listener and early 2000s music fan. Emily lives in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, with her husband, two sons and goldendoodle.
